Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was released in the theatres on the occasion of Eid along with highly anticipated Ajay Devgn’s biographical drama Maidaan.
Expected to be a festival at the box office with the release of these movies, the performance of both movies was quite a disappointment for the moviegoers.
As per the early estimates, Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has finally reached the Rs 50 crore club in terms of worldwide collection after eight days of its release, a figure which should have been touched in the first week.
On the other hand, Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan which started as a critic’s favourite fell miserably at the box office. The worldwide collection of the movie currently stands at Rs 28.25 crore at the box office after eight days.
Miyan Bade Chote Miyan had a good first day collection all around the nation, but after that the movie’s earnings were only in the single digits. The film was ultimately able to reach the Rs 50 crore mark at the box office thanks to relatively high ticket prices and mainstream release.
On its first day of release, the film made Rs 15.65 crore in revenue. Subsequently, the earnings for the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh days were as follows: Rs 7.6 crore, Rs 8.5 crore, Rs 9.05 crore, Rs 2.5 crore, Rs 2.4 crore, and Rs 2.55 crore.
According to a Sacnilk report, the eighth day’s revenue for the Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was Rs 1.60 crore. Ali Abbas Zafar is the director and writer of the action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The main actors in it are Sonakshi Sinha, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tiger Shroff, Manushi Chillar, and Akshay Kumar.
On the other hand, Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan, which clashed with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, received excellent reviews, but the film has failed to garner audiences in theatres. ‘Maidan’ opened an account of Rs 7.1 crore at the box office on the first day. The film did a business of Rs 2.75 crore on the second day, Rs 5.75 crore on the third day, Rs 6.4 crore on the fourth day, Rs 1.5 crore on the fifth day, Rs 1.6 crore on the sixth day and Rs 2 crore on the seventh day.
As per Sacnilk, Maidaan collected only Rs 1.15 crore on its eighth day. The total collection of Ajay Devgan’s film till now across the country has been only Rs 28.25 crores. Maidaan is directed by Amit Ravindranath Sharma and stars Ajay Devgn in the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, the coach of Indian football team in the 50s. The actor plays the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, a pioneering football coach of India between 1952 and 1962.
