Vasudhara Fall- The Divine Fall
The journey to Vasudhara starts from Badrinath. After visiting lord Badrinath one can proceed for Vasudhara.
Passing through Mana the first village of India comes the Bhim Pul. Here River Saraswati is flowing in its full glory it is said that the pandavas were not able to cross this river so the mighty Bhim placed a rock on the river enabling them to cross the river, hence the name Bhim Pul. It is believed that thirty three koti deity reside in this water and people take water from River Saraswati to their home to sprinkle and to make their home pure.
The three-hour trek starts that from Bhim Pul. The route is stony with some grass and shrubs in the sides. The entire route is covered with picturesque beauty. In the mid of the route you have to cross a waterfall where you can drink water and take some rest before proceeding to Vasudhara.
It is believed that if the water of vasudhara falls upon you then your journey is complete and you are one of the purest soul. It is also believed that all God and Goddesses take bath in this holy water everyday. If you are fit and have keen interest in trekking then don’t miss 5 km trekking to Vasudhara waterfall.
Significance of Vasudhara
Vasu’ refers to Lord Vishnu‘s Vasudeva. Dhara means “path of the river”, so “the path of Lord Vishnu“. Legends says that the Pandavas passed through this place on their way to Swargarohini Yatra and Sahadeva gave up his life near Vasudhara.
The Vashudhara fall is at a distance of nine Km. from Badrinath and five km. from Bhim pul.The height of this waterfall is 400 ft (120 m). Satopanth glacier sits near the bottom of Vasudhara. The falls flow into the river Alaknanda, flowing towards Badrinath Temple.The Vashudhara fall is surrounded by mountains Chaukhamba, Nilkantha and Balakun ( also known as Alkapuri)
Best Time to Visit Vasudhara Falls
The journey to Vasudhara Falls can only be undertaken when the portals of Badrinath temple are opened which is usually from the 2nd week of May to October or November each year. So the best time to visit this place would be from May to June.
Location & How to Reach Vasudhara Falls
For approaching the ravishing Vasudhara Falls, one needs to undertake a short 3 km drive from Badrinath to Mana village. On reaching Mana village, a further 5 km brisk trek will take you to Vasudhara waterfalls, which takes about 3 hours to complete.
By Road: Badrinath being one of the holiest places of Hindus is well connected by motorable roads with major destinations of Uttarakhand. The travellers can take the bus to Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Srinagar from ISBT, Kashmiri Gate New Delhi. Local transport to Badrinath town can be easily available from the major cities of Uttarakhand like Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Pauri, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Ukhimath, Srinagar, Chamoli etc.
By Rail: Rishikesh railway station situated 294 km before Badrinath, is the nearest railhead. Badrinath is well connected by motorable roads from Rishikesh. One can easily catch a bus or hire a taxi from Rishikesh, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Joshimath etc. to reach Badrinath.
By Air: The Jolly Grant airport situated at a distance of 311 km is the closest airport to Badrinath. It operates daily flights to Delhi and taxis can be easily available to Badrinath from Jolly Grant airport.

Nice information for pilgrims. One should visit Vasudhara. Recently I have also visited this place. It took total 6 hours to reach back Mana Village. The experience was very good.
