What this policy covers

This policy explains what BharatScope collects when you read the site, sign in, subscribe to a newsletter, or take a ₹399 annual membership, and what we do with it. It applies to bharatscope.com and its subdomains.

Information we collect

  • Identity. If you sign in with Puvio, we receive your Puvio account identifier, name, profile picture and email address from Puvio, and store the access and refresh credentials needed to keep you signed in.
  • Mobile number. If you sign in with a one-time SMS code, we store your number in international format and a hashed copy of the code, plus a short audit record (time, result, IP address, browser) used to stop abuse.
  • Membership. For paid memberships we store your plan, amount, status and the payment reference returned by our gateway. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by the gateway and never reach our servers.
  • Preferences. Followed topics, saved stories, theme and state edition. These are kept on your device and, where you are signed in, alongside your account.
  • Newsletter. The email address you submit for the Morning Edition.

How we use it

  • To sign you in and keep your session valid.
  • To decide whether your membership unlocks member-only feeds.
  • To rank and personalise the wire against the topics you follow.
  • To send the newsletters and notifications you asked for.
  • To detect abuse, fraud and automated sign-in attempts.

We do not sell reader data, and we do not share your reading history with advertisers.

Who processes data for us

  • Puvio — sign-in and identity.
  • MSG91 — delivery of one-time SMS codes.
  • Cashfree Payments — membership payments.
  • Supabase — database, authentication and storage.
  • OpenRouter — the AI editorial pass that ranks headlines. Only public headlines and source names are sent; never your personal details.

News headlines and article links come from the publishers' own public feeds and news APIs, and remain the property of those publishers.

Retention

One-time codes and sign-in verifiers expire within minutes and are then unusable. Audit records are kept for up to 12 months. Membership and payment records are kept as long as required for accounting and dispute handling. Everything else is deleted when you ask us to close your account.

Your choices

  • Ask for a copy of the data held about you.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it, or to close your account.
  • Unsubscribe from any newsletter using the link in every issue.
  • Withdraw an AI personalisation preference at any time from your profile.

Write to info@nevika.co and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

Traffic is served over HTTPS. Access and payment credentials are stored server-side only, never in the browser bundle. Database access is restricted per reader, so one account cannot read another's records.

Children

BharatScope is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
